Forward Deployed Engineer (Data Analyst) - AEC Tech (Remote)
Join a fast-growing startup that’s reimagining how the construction and design industries use data and AI.
We’re building tools that empower large owners and operators—from hospitals to universities—to make smarter, faster decisions about their built environments. Our platform transforms raw construction data into actionable insights through automation and artificial intelligence.
If you’ve ever thought, “I love design, but I want to work where data, technology, and innovation actually drive change,” this is that role.
About the Company
We’re an AI-driven construction technology startup founded by industry veterans who saw firsthand how fragmented, inaccessible data slows progress on large projects.
Backed by leading investors and entering a major growth phase after a successful Series A, we’re focused on turning construction data into intelligence—helping owners and developers make better decisions faster.
Our culture values initiative, transparency, and creative problem-solving. We move fast, collaborate closely, and build things that matter.
Why This Role Exists
You’ll be part of a small, high-impact team bridging the gap between construction and AI.
This is not a back-office analyst position. You’ll sit at the intersection of data, design, and decision-making—working directly with customers, understanding their problems, and building lightweight, data-driven prototypes that evolve into production-ready solutions.
Think of it as a forward-deployed data role—part analyst, part technologist, part consultant. You’ll learn fast, build fast, and help shape how the construction industry applies AI.
What You’ll Be Doing
Partner directly with enterprise customers to understand their projects, decisions, and pain points
Explore and structure data from construction systems, drawings, BIM models, and public datasets
Build dashboards, prototypes, and analytical workflows that surface insights and inform decisions
Write clean, efficient Python and SQL to manipulate and analyze data
Collaborate with product and engineering to transition your insights into scalable tools
Support the development of AI-driven features that automate document understanding and project intelligence
Capture and communicate findings through clear storytelling, visualization, and presentation
What We’re Looking For
We care more about how you think than what your title has been.
You might have started in:
Architecture, construction management, or engineering—but found yourself drawn to the tech and data side
Computational design, BIM management, or digital fabrication—and want to apply those skills at scale
A design technology or analytics role—and are ready to make a bigger impact in a smaller, faster company
You’ll thrive here if you:
Have 2+ years of professional experience analyzing, managing, or visualizing complex data (construction-related or otherwise)
Are comfortable using Python and SQL, and familiar with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Jupyter Notebook
Can balance technical depth with communication—translating messy data into clear insights for customers
Enjoy hands-on problem-solving, not waiting for a big team or process to catch up
Want to be part of a startup where you can directly shape the product and company
You’ll Love This Role If You…
Are fascinated by how AI and automation can reshape the built environment
Like working with both people and data—listening, prototyping, iterating
Value autonomy, speed, and ownership
Get satisfaction from seeing your ideas implemented directly in customer workflows
Want to help bridge architecture and technology in a meaningful, applied way
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $100,000–$150,000, depending on experience
Flexible paid time off
Medical, dental, and vision benefits
Remote-friendly with preference for New York-area candidates
Direct access to founders and influence on the product roadmap
Recognition as an early team member helping shape the company’s future
