Job Description
Otto ADU is growing our construction delivery team to serve homeowners rebuilding after recent fires and our expanding ADU client base. We’ve built processes and internal software that let us deliver high-quality ADUs with unusual pace and consistency. We’re looking for a detail-oriented Project Manager to help scale the system: to assist in project management and continually refine how we build.
This role starts at 20 hours/week with a path to full-time within 6–12 months as our project pipeline grows.

Otto ADU Otto ADU is a Los Angeles-based, full-service design-build company specializing in Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) and fire rebuilds. We manage the entire process, from design and permitting to construction, helping homeowners unlock new space, functionality, and value.
What you’ll do:
Day-to-day coordination with our Construction Lead across multiple active sites
Conduct site visits (1–2 days/week) for progress, quality, safety, and inspection readiness; complete structured checklists and photo logs
Verify design intent in the field against plans/specs; flag clashes and propose options
Review drawings (architectural, structural, shop drawings—esp. cabinets) and material schedules; track submittals and approvals
Communicate with subs/suppliers: RFIs, status updates, and timely follow-ups
Permitting touchpoints: prep over-the-counter submissions, pickups, and inspector clarifications
Maintain clean project records (Airtable + shared drives): decisions, dates, inspections, changes
Surface issues early and recommend corrective actions
Capture site photos for internal review, record-keeping, and occasional social posts
Must Haves:
2+ years in residential architecture or construction (ADU, SFD, or small multifamily)
Sharp attention to detail and an eye for design; you care about fit/finish
Continuous improvement mindset
Clear written and verbal communication
Solid organization across multiple concurrent jobs
Airtable (or similar) project tracking experience
Nice-to-haves:
Revit experience
Glide or other no-code app tooling
Basic cabinet/millwork submittal review experience
Details ~20 hours/week, flexible schedule; contractor role
Path to Full Time:
Starting at 20 hrs/week; we'll evaluate at 60 and 90 days based on workload, performance, and pipeline.
Goal is full-time within 6–12 months if the fit is strong on both sides
Be on the forefront of implementing new ADU, SB9, AB1123, fire rebuild policies
Small, tight team where your voice shapes how we work
Work on 8-12 concurrent projects vs. 1-2 at traditional firms
Salary Range:
$40-50/hr
