Senior Architect - AEC Tech (Florida)

The Role

We are hiring a Senior Architect to take ownership of late-stage design and delivery for residential projects in Florida. This is not a traditional architecture role. We are looking for someone who can independently carry projects from advanced design through construction documentation and construction administration—while actively improving how that work gets done.

You’ll join a small, high-caliber, remote team operating at the intersection of real estate development, architecture, and building systems. While the team is distributed, this role must be based in Florida (or already licensed and ready to relocate quickly) due to active projects and site visit requirements.

Location

Florida - Main project is in Sarasota, but open to Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and Fort Myers based candidates.

Core Responsibilities

  • Own architectural design development from late-stage concept through full construction documentation and CA

  • Act as the primary architectural lead coordinating structural, MEP, civil, and other consultants

  • Produce clean, permit-ready CD sets independently (this is hands-on)

  • Support active residential projects including townhomes, cottages, and small multifamily (4-over-1) typologies

  • Identify friction in design workflows and help systematize and standardize documentation, details, and Revit workflows

  • Collaborate closely with internal design, product, and engineering teams to align delivery with broader platform and systems goals

  • Participate in site visits and coordination with Florida-based clients and stakeholders

Qualifications & Credentials

  • Licensed architect, registered in Florida.

  • AIA membership and/or NCARB accreditation.

  • At least 8 years of professional architecture or engineering design experience.

  • Strong expertise in construction documentation, including technical drawings and detailing.

  • Advanced proficiency with Revit and BIM workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead consultant coordination and manage complex, multidisciplinary projects.

  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to convey ideas clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

How This Role Is Different

This role exists because the team operates as more than a traditional architecture firm. The focus is on building repeatable building systems, not one-off designs.

The right person:

  • Thinks in systems, not just projects

  • Cares about speed, consistency, and constructability

  • Is energized by standardization rather than threatened by it

  • Wants to make future projects easier, not just finish the current one

This is a delivery + leverage role, not a purely conceptual design position.

What Success Looks Like

  • A successful Senior Architect in this role will deliver projects that are not only well-designed but also efficiently coordinated, documented, and scalable.

  • They will help shape and standardize building systems, contribute to organizational efficiency, and demonstrate leadership across internal teams and external consultants.

  • Ultimately, their work will ensure projects meet performance, cost, and constructability requirements while advancing the organization’s mission to build at scale with innovation and precision

Team & Company Context

  • ~10-person company, venture-backed

  • Recently raised a Seed round with strong Revenue and growing client-base

  • Small, senior team with high ownership and autonomy

  • Design, product, and engineering are tightly integrated

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $130,000 – $160,000 (flexible for exceptional candidates)

  • Equity: Stock options (pre–Series A)

  • Healthcare (medical + dental)

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 401(k) (no match)
