Operations Coordinator - Monumental Labs (NYC, NY)

About Monumental Labs

Monumental Labs is building robot stone carving factories to unleash an art and architecture renaissance. We’re a post-seed stage company that’s raised $18M from top-tier investors including Alexis Ohanian’s 776, Shadow Ventures, Teamworthy Ventures, John & Patrick Collison, Tobi Lütke, and more. We’re driving down the cost of stone fabrication with robotics and AI, enabling the rebirth of the stone craftsman in America and, eventually, worldwide. Our long-term goal is to build cities with the splendor of Florence, Paris, or pre-war New York at a fraction of the cost.

In just over two years, we’ve worked on the restoration of The Frick, Carnegie Hall, and The Villard Houses; new buildings for major universities and leading architecture firms; and fine-art commissions for major artists, collectors, churches, museums, and institutions.

We’re now at a major inflection point. As we transition into our new Greenpoint headquarters — with 10x the production capacity — we’re scaling operations, taking on massive architectural and monumental projects, and rapidly expanding our fleet of robotic carving machines.

About the Role

We are looking for an Operations Manager to own the day-to-day operational coordination of our stone fabrication factory. This is a highly hands-on, on-site role embedded in a working industrial production environment.

For the next two months, this role will be based full-time at our Mount Vernon, NY production facility. As our new Greenpoint, Brooklyn headquarters comes online, you will transition to helping run day-to-day operations there as we scale into a much larger, more advanced robotic stone factory.

You will act as the operational backbone of the factory — tracking production, coordinating teams, maintaining schedules, and ensuring projects move smoothly from robotic carving to finishing, crating, shipping, and installation.

We currently operate 2 robotic carving systems and are preparing to scale to 10+ machines. This role is critical to building the systems, processes, and coordination needed to support that scale.

This is ideal for someone who thrives in industrial environments, loves logistics and systems, and gets real satisfaction from making complex physical operations run cleanly and predictably.

  • Maintain detailed production schedules and ensure teams are aligned on priorities and deadlines

  • Coordinate daily work across fabricators, carvers, robot operators, engineers, and logistics partners

  • Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements

Robotics & Equipment Coordination

  • Track utilization, uptime, and scheduling of robotic carving machines

  • Help plan production as we scale from 3 machines to 10+ additional systems

  • Coordinate with technical teams on maintenance scheduling to reduce downtime

Logistics & Installation

  • Oversee crating and shipping schedules

  • Track outbound logistics and installation timelines

  • Ensure factory production aligns with site and client deadlines

Systems & Process Management

  • Comfortable working daily in a factory environment

  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills — you think in systems, timelines, and dependencies

  • Experience coordinating across multiple teams in production settings

  • Technically curious and not intimidated by machinery, robotics, or industrial processes

  • Clear communicator who can work with fabricators, engineers, artists, and leadership

  • Highly detail-oriented and proactive

  • Experience with production tracking tools, spreadsheets, or operations software

Nice to Have

  • Experience in stone, metal, wood, or architectural fabrication

  • Exposure to robotics, CNC, or automated manufacturing

  • Lean, 5S, or continuous process improvement experience

What We Offer

Work with an exceptional team of artists, stone carvers, fabricators, architects, and robotics engineers solving one of the most exciting problems in the world: making beauty scalable in the built environment.

  • Salary: $80,000–$90,000

  • Health benefits

  • A key role in scaling a first-of-its-kind robotic stone factory

  • Direct involvement in the production of monumental artworks and architecture

  • A front-row seat to a new era of craft, robotics, and construction
