Associate Creative Director - Media Monks (Los Angeles, CA)

ACDs will work alongside the Creative Director to develop concepts and directions for creative ideas, campaigns, executions and positionings. This will require them to make conceptual and stylistic decisions. Creating comps, ad lobs and prototypes may be required to illustrate their idea to other members of the team or management. This work can be done in conjunction with teams they are delegating to or working with.

Managing Projects

Decoded ACDs will oversee multiple projects at once. This will include managing creative teams, abiding by timelines, overseeing direction, ensuring all deadlines are met. They will also act as quality control for their projects by reviewing and editing their team’s work before it is seen by the larger agency group or clients.

Client Presentations & Presentations

The ACD’s management of any given project gives them the best purview to craft the initial story around how an idea is sold to clients. It’s expected that the ACD will organize the work coming in from teams and create presentation decks for review both with those teams and their managers. 

Staying Curious

ACDs are muses as much as they are teachers. Staying up on the latest trends and social media fads is important for them to help guide the conversation with their teams, but it’s only the start. An encyclopedic knowledge of all sorts of influences will make your work more effective. You should demonstrate curiosity for the world and the things people create within it, whether it's a new platform, a tiktok, art, music, film, lit, greatest hits of advertising, or new, emerging thought leadership on media, tech, and creativity. To best serve their team,  ACDs should continually dig into strategies, platforms, and technologies that might serve our creative goals.. 

Skills

Associate Creative Directors should have enough humility to listen to others and enough confidence to stand behind their ideas. They must be reliable and enjoy challenging and fast-paced work, while also being extremely motivated and having strong leadership skills. 

Qualifications

  • At least 6-8 years experience in a creative field with some experience managing teams, managing up, managing projects, and working production.

  • A well-developed creative point of view, and the ability to identify strong ideas and executions.

  • Patient and detail-oriented

  • Collaborative with strategic, brand, creative, production and media partners

  • Finger on the pulse of creative cultures and technologies.

  • Virtuoso knowledge of their own discipline, with a cursory knowledge of those that fall outside.

  • The ability to translate ideas for internal teams or clients, through decks and presentations.

  • Ability to lead projects from concept to completion.

  • Be an inspirational leader with the ability to guide diverse teams.

  • Proven track record in creating excellent work. Proof of ability to develop great ideas and up-level the work with their craft.
