Project Architect, Delivery - AUAR (London, UK)

About Us

Automated Architecture (AUAR) – ‘our’ for short – is a construction tech startup building a distributed robotic micro-factory network for sustainable, affordable and beautiful timber housing. AUAR offers a different vision for the built environment, where automation is not centralised into large factories but empowers local ecosystems of communities, contractors, architects and developers to build better homes.

AUAR currently operates in Europe and North America, partnering with home builders and contractors to build the first distributed micro-factory network for sustainable timber housing. AUAR licenses its low CapEx robotic micro-factories and tech stack to a network of existing home builders, enabling them to deliver capital-efficient sustainable homes, at scale. AUAR’s design algorithms can also generate endless design variations adapted to local sites and AUAR’s underlying data model makes all costs and other data known upfront to their clients and manufacturing partners.

About the Role

As an Architect at AUAR, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of projects with our partners (external architects, contractors and developers), deploying our timber building system into their designs. You’ll report to and work closely with the Architecture Lead and Chief Architect to develop projects in line with their design intent, the relevant regulations, and the requirements of AUAR's building system. Working with teams across the company, you’ll ensure that projects can be delivered as designed, give feedback on the system and software, and request future functionality.

As we look to expand our capacity for new and larger projects, we need somebody to pick up designs and run with them, applying our technology to deliver accurate, practical solutions at pace. As we grow, you’ll help our expanding network of partners to use our tools, supporting them in delivering more projects through the AUAR platform.

✏️ Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with our customers to ensure their designs can be delivered seamlessly with our building system

  • Lead the technical development and resolution of several AUAR projects simultaneously, across multiple markets/regions

  • Use AUAR's software to generate project quotes and production information

  • Manage and produce 3D models, particularly their timber structures, connections and interface details

  • Manage and produce 2D information for each project stage, including arrangement drawings, details and assembly instructions

  • Work with project design teams and our partners to coordinate project delivery, including project planning, scope, and deliverables

  • Share product feedback with our building system and software teams to guide the future development of the tools

  • Champion AUAR systems and ensure excellence in delivery, helping to expand our network
