The Role

Design Innovation Lead champions showing up differently and building excitement with clients through your mastery of delivering groundbreaking product and service concepts. You live to be a practitioner who designs innovative approaches that solve the toughest client problems while using ground-breaking user experience and technologies backed by research-based insights. You are an expert at rapidly designing and ideating new ways to “wow” clients and advance conversations through design-led deliverables.  A Design Innovation Lead engages other Kyndryl subject matter experts to provide critical input, design, and solution support to your ideas, showcasing the best of Kyndryl expertise to our clients.  

 

The Kyndryl Vital, US team operates as a start-up within a start-up, embracing an entrepreneurial spirit to achieve company-leading methodologies in our approach to co-creation and innovation. This role will help expand the capabilities of our small but mighty team. You'll be influential in the development of innovation and innovative thought leadership within Kyndryl by leading conceptual solution design and promoting the advancement of innovation design to drive the success of our engagements and expand our portfolio to further impact more customer’s experiences.

Compensation

If you are hired, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $123,740 to $296,980 based on a full-time schedule.  Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience.  For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.

This position will be eligible for Kyndryl’s discretionary annual bonus program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Kyndryl’s applicable plans. You may also receive a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical and dental coverage, disability, retirement benefits, paid leave, and paid time off.  Note: If this is a sales commission eligible role, you will be eligible to participate in a sales commission plan in lieu of the annual discretionary bonus program.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise  

  • Demonstrable UI/UX design expertise and technical industry knowledge to create innovation frameworks, storyboards, wireframes, mockups, video hype reels, prototypes or art of possible concepts that deliver compelling future visions for businesses to align around.  

  • Extensive experience co-creating alongside C-Suite stakeholders and owning workshop facilitation to ideate, design, and deploy solutions that address root causes of business problems and enhance overall user experiences. 

  • Ability to manage a portfolio of accounts and key relationships across both client accounts and internal Kyndryl projects. 

  • Expertise in understanding and communicating complex user-experiences and ecosystems to an array of audiences and levels of understanding.  

  • Demonstrable expertise in accelerating innovation and enhancing client relationships through storytelling and articulation of why it matters to the business and its users. 

  • Ability to conduct and leverage research findings to design custom client solutions, shape requirements, and rapidly accelerate innovation roadmaps. 

  • Ability to recommend development approach, skillsets needed, and level of effort for proposed designed solutions. 

  • Ability to connect recommendation to specific client needs, desired outcomes, and success metrics. 

  • A proven partner with other creative and technology SMEs, building trust and teamwork internally in order to lead technological innovation. Equally good at collaborating on a team and independent contributions. 

  • Keeping abreast with advancements in application design and new technologies as well as acumen to build repeatable processes and repeatable components.  

  • Experience mentoring and leading designers with an appetite to manage direct reports as the innovation capability expands. 

  • Highly proficient in prototyping tools and creative software: Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as collaboration tools, such as Miro.  

 

Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise  

  • At least 10 years of related industry experience with online portfolio samples available upon request.  

  • Strong but growing familiarity with the leading Hyperscalers. 

  • Expert in the areas of ideation and design, staying up to date on emerging technologies and their potential to impact design and the IT industry, and applying iterative approaches to foster rapid experimentation.  

  • Great organizational and time management skills.  

  • Attention to detail in the language and relationship dynamics of key stakeholders. 

  • Experience scaling new offerings and championing internal change management efforts. 

 

Required Education  

  • High School Diploma/GED  

  

Preferred Education  

  • Bachelor's Degree  

  • Additional relevant certifications
