As a member of the Digital Experience team, your role as a Senior Digital Experience Designer is to help envision, scope, and implement digital interface experiences that manifest in the built environment and bridge the gap between the physical and digital world.
Your understanding of information architecture, user flow diagrams, and interaction design to craft experiences that go “beyond the screen” is integral in this role. You are expected to be both hands-on—injecting progressive, strategic design-thinking into the work —and conceptual—helping to guide the digital approach and execution as you collaborate and partner with Gensler practice areas including architecture, interiors, brand, and consulting to ensure compelling digital design.
You will leverage a variety of platforms and technologies to identify and define user experiences, design and deliver solutions for opportunities within the user journey, demonstrate proof of concepts, simulate experiences within virtual environments, test the usability of an interface, and produce digital content for temporary or permanent installation.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with clients, digital design teams and other designer disciplines on projects across multiple industries
Have a deep understanding of users, including personas and archetypes/modes, and their relation to unique and holistic user journeys
Translate user needs into visual concepts using a variety of tools
Evolve concepts from ideation to sketches and storyboards to viable, documented design solutions
Design for the needs of the clients and end users, understanding the balance between the two
Knowledge of user-centric design processes and methodologies
Your Qualifications
7+ years of Visual Design and/or Interaction Design experience
Strong foundation of graphic design abilities including sensitivity to typography, color, and composition
Deep understanding of UX/UI
The ability to create harmonious combinations of graphics, video, and audio, particularly in built environments
Able to collaborate with content strategists around information architecture and content hierarchies
Able to think technically and creatively while collaborating with a wide range of creative partners including architects, graphic designers, illustrators, videographers, and photographers
Experience designing for physical space, i.e. responsive display technologies in a physical space
Exceptional critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets
Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn quickly and understand diverse technologies and techniques.
Proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Proficiency in U/X design tools such as InVision and Sketch and motion tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, and Cinema 4D
Desire to employ best design practices and to develop new bold ideas
Self starter with a passion for independence and idea exploration
A willingness to combine conceptional thinking with the crafting of the work itself
Must provide a portfolio in either PDF form or a link to a website portfolio
