ABOUT THIS ROLE
You’ll join the Innovate team: a small team of design strategists who help innovators and business leaders identify, define and develop digital product opportunities. We often work in collaboration with our Build (cross-functional product development team) and Learn (skills training) teams.
You will compliment our strategic skillset with a strong focus on mixed methods user research (required) and market research (desired).
The Innovate Practice: Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders and product owners to define success metrics and outcomes
Design and execute research to uncover and define opportunities, fuel ideation, inform decision making
Run qualitative and quantitative research strategies and design investigations to understand customer behaviors, pain points, needs, and aspirations to define the value and scope of new and existing products
Define and recruit participants, or oversee third party recruitment, as necessary
Provide rapid insights around user pains, needs, and which should be addressed, and how they map to business outcomes
Facilitate team ideation sessions based on defined success criteria and your ability to present a clear picture of the problem space
Partner with product managers, designers, and software engineers to provide the best outcomes for our clients and their customers
Be a lean product development ambassador and advocate - hosting lunch-and-learns and co-developing new approaches and frameworks with the team
Work closely with engineering, product, and design leaders and teams to build on our one team initiative - our desire for a cohesive, highly collaborative and cooperative, cross functional team
Be an advocate for the development of the burgeoning Innovate practice at Giant Machines
2 or more days/week onsite at our offices (and/or clients) in FiDi
Client Consulting Responsibilities
Identify, define, and advocate for research and strategy opportunities that help our clients succeed
Articulate the value of the design strategy work we do, both in a sales context and within the course of a project
Work with sales, product, engineering, and design teams to craft how design strategy work layers into existing sales efforts
Help sales win engagements that require research and strategy expertise

You have been part of a product development team who has been responsible for creating and shipping a digital product
You are accustomed to proving how your work has delivered against measurable business outcomes
You have some experience in client services
You possess a passion for pragmatism and value-driven work
You’re curious and always seeking ways to improve your methods and approach, and you’re not afraid to be scrappy and lean when necessary
