Summary:Associate 3D Technical Designer opportunity. Experienced, well versed in 3D tools and technologies with an eye for product design, soft accessories (such as bags and headwear), footwear, apparel, or other consumer goods. Looking for candidate with strong problem-solving skills, advanced 3D skills, and project management capabilities that can support multiple product categories within accessories, apparel, hard goods, and footwear.

Needs to be able to work with teams and work independently to hit project and business calendar milestones.

  • Assist in managing seasonal and carryover 3D asset libraries, including for digital trims and fabrics, while owning coordination of fabric submission for digitization.

  • Create high-quality, photo realistic rendered assets of 3D models.

  • Communicate with Design and Tech Design teams on improving existing 3D designs.

  • Support conversion of 3D assets between multiple programs, as well as for web and animation, with model texturing and UV map optimization

  • Collaborate in the development of standards and processes for 3D.

  • Continuously look for ways of improving and enhancing 3D capabilities across all product categories

  • Requirements:

    • Experience with host of consumer goods categories preferred: soft accessories (such as small leather goods, bags, headwear, etc), footwear, sports equipment (golf balls and clubs), apparel, and hard goods. Candidate will work broadly across many Acushnet divisions and interesting technical products.

    • Robust knowledge of 3D fabric draping programs: CLO3D strongly preferred.

    • Extensive rendering skills in KeyShot or Cinema4D (other programs will be considered)

    • Advanced knowledge of 3D hard modeling, texturing, and sculpting programs, such as: Rhino (strongly preferred), Maya, Blender, Zbrush, or Adobe Substance Suite

    • Must understand HDRI maps, PBR maps, UV mapping, and other 3D essentials.

    • Understanding of different 3D export types and their best use cases

    • Highly motivated to continue your 3D journey, with supplied new 3D software.

    • Strong experience with garment construction, technical fit sessions, reviewing spec sheets, and parametric avatar use.

    • Experience with digital libraries, including with digital fabrics.

    • Understanding of web turntables / WebGL, in context of 3D viewing.

    • Portfolio submission is required (website or other method accepted).

    • 3+ years’ work experience in a design field such as: Product, Industrial, 3D, Accessories, Footwear, or Apparel.

    • 2+ years focused experience in designing, modeling, sculpting and/or rendering in 3D digital applications.

    • College degree in above design categories (bachelor’s preferred).

    Salary: $73,083-$91,123 (Remote position)
