The role of the Retail Experience + Graphic Design Associate sits at the intersection of Store Design, R+D, and Brand, positioned to optimize the design and execution of new stores + seasonal campaigns. The role will be exposed to many aspects of the design process from layouts, concepts, design development, construction documentation and portfolio management. There will be a great amount of cross-functional team collaboration with Store Design, Brand, Marketing, Operations Services, and Construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Graphic Design + Implementation:Design to optimize the customer journey throughout existing and upcoming sweetgreen locations. Create sketches, layouts, finished designs, and production assets as directed. Design seasonal campaigns throughout all touchpoints of our retail in-store experience. Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage creative timelines and for new + existing store signage.

  • Prototyping:Manage design, prototyping, and installation of in-store visuals for various touchpoints of customer experience (print, mosaics, wallpaper, neons, merchandising fixtures, construction signage).

  • Research + Development: Research new trends and generate supportive mood boards/presentations that demonstrate strategic ideas for newness (signage, merchandising, art). Manage outside vendors through prototyping, including briefing, quality control, project timelines and budgeting.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in design (graphic, interior or related field).

  • Highly organized, passionate, energetic, self-starter with great interpersonal skills

  • An aptitude to experiment and move from idea to concept to test quickly but in an organized fashion

  • Proficient in inDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Sketchup

  • High visualization capabilities to create renderings using SketchUp and ability to touch up photos and renderings using Photoshop

  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environment, and willingness to be flexible and resourceful under tight timelines

  • Must be hands-on and able to execute projects independently from start to finish

  • Keen eye for detail and demonstrated understanding of graphic design systems, print production, and typography

  • Eager to learn about the business and evolve as a designer

  • Previous work experience in retail or hospitality is highly desired

  • An awareness of contemporary trends in technology, art, and design

  • Portfolio link or sample attachment is required with your application

  • Must live in NYC greater area
