About the job

Well-known New York City based international designer, importer and distributor of gift items and accessories seeks a Product Development Manager. High volume, fast-paced creative environment seeking a self-starter who is hard-working and flexible. The Project Development Manager’s primary role is to ensure timely and quality development of products.

Job Duties

  • Manage and oversee the development of new products from concept to market launch.

  • Coordinate scope, timelines, and product requirements for both inline and private label projects.

  • Manage quotation process with overseas suppliers.

  • Oversee the input of catalog data and the creation of sell sheets.

  • Develop product specifications and ensure adherence to quality standards.

  • Manage PD samples and coordinate samples for trade shows.

  • Source product as needed.

  • Maintain and update the Working OS.

  • Communicate Daily with overseas offices and factories.

  • Perform other related projects as assigned.

Key Requirements/Attributes

  • Two to three years of experience in product development, project management and/or retail supply

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Product Design, Merchandising, Engineering, or Business.

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor's degree-Previous gift/housewares industry experience and knowledge of retail supply channels are a strong plus.

  • Knowledge of Production processes, mechanical engineering and materials are a plus.

  • Benefits

    Benefits include medical and dental insurance (employee pays a portion); retirement plan; and transit-check program. PTO is 20 days + 8 holidays and office is closed between Christmas and New Years.

    Location is in a popular area near SoHo and position is full time in office. Starting salary is $75k.
