Prototype Designer, Interactive Experiences - Samsung Electronics America (New York, NY)

Position Summary

We’re looking for a highly creative, execution-focused Rapid Prototyping Designer to join a lean innovation team building the next generation of interactive experiences for Samsung Smart TVs. You’ll be responsible for quickly designing and developing high-fidelity, production-ready prototypes that bring new ideas to life—from sponsored game variants and interactive shopping overlays to entirely new content formats. If you’re obsessed with experimenting, iterating, and shipping fast, this is your role.

Role And Responsibilities

This is a creatively wide-open role with real executional velocity—you won’t just pitch ideas, you’ll build them. You will be the center of a growing team focused on validating breakthrough ideas through working prototypes. You'll collaborate closely with product, research, and external partners to test new mechanics, formats, and monetizable experiences that could scale across Samsung’s massive TV footprint.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Design and develop interactive, high-fidelity prototypes for sponsored experiences, GameBreak variants, interactive shopping, and new content formats.

  • Rapidly iterate on ideas based on user testing, internal feedback, and platform capabilities.

  • Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and external partners to validate design hypotheses and explore new UX patterns.

  • Build prototypes primarily for web-based environments optimized for TV interfaces.

  • Maintaining/iterating live mini-games/GameBreaks with visual/ux updates (New features, bug fixes, seasonal imagery, client sponsorship integration, etc)

  • Supporting the development and delivery of final products to market (making production ready assets, iterating on polish, supporting bug fixes, etc)

  • Leverage generative AI tools to accelerate design, enhance interactivity, and streamline content development.

  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset—willing to explore, experiment, and invent in areas where no precedent exists.

Skills And Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in UX, interaction design, or creative prototyping, ideally in fast-paced or startup environments.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing interactive prototypes and high-fidelity design work.

  • Proficient in prototyping tools (such as Figma, ProtoPie, Framer, Webflow, or equivalent), with fluency in web-based design for large-screen environments.

  • Experience building clickable or semi-functional prototypes that simulate interactivity and logic.

  • Comfort working with ambiguity and leading design direction in uncharted product spaces.

  • Familiarity with TV UI/UX patterns, connected devices, and large-screen interactions a plus.

  • Hands-on experience or comfort using generative AI tools to support visual design, copy, or logic workflows.

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $140,000 - $165,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
