We are seeking a visionary and collaborative Principal Brand Designer who thrives at the intersection of product and brand design. You will lead and inspire cross-functional teams to translate brand identity into every aspect of our product experience, ensuring that our brand principles not only guide visual and narrative expression but are intricately woven into the design system and realized through engineering implementation. Your unique blend of creative leadership and systems thinking will drive a unified, compelling brand presence across all Copilot touchpoints. Responsibilities
Champion the intersection of product and brand design, ensuring every product touchpoint is an authentic expression of our core brand identity and values.
Lead creative and design work to apply brand identity cohesively across product features, flows, and user journeys, translating abstract principles into tangible, impactful experiences.
Drive collaboration between brand, product, and engineering, connecting the dots from brand principles to design system to engineering implementation for a unified and scalable ecosystem.
Deliver world-class brand experiences in AI applications, with a focus on craft, narrative, quality, and positive societal impact.
Develop and evolve a robust, flexible design system that embodies the brand and can be efficiently implemented by engineering teams across diverse products and platforms.
Own and articulate the product’s visual and verbal style, collaborating with marketing, engineering, UX, and research partners to maintain consistency and excellence.
Communicate and collaborate across teams, managing dependencies, schedules, and design integrity from concept through implementation.
Mentor and inspire designers, setting high standards for creative excellence, inclusivity, and professional growth.
Translate business and brand goals into visionary strategies, actionable roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
Foster a culture of experimentation, feedback, and continuous learning within the design team and across disciplines.
Required Qualifications
Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design
OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 8+ years experience working in product or service design
OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).
A portfolio or work samples highlighting at least 5 years of experience synthesizing brand and product design, leading the application of brand identity in product environments, and delivering end-to-end creative solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Proven ability to connect high-level brand principles to design system architecture and engineering implementation, ensuring fidelity and scalability
Experience setting creative vision for complex, cross-platform products and building consensus across multifunctional teams
High level of craft in both visual and experiential design, with a demonstrated ability to translate brand narratives into intuitive digital experiences
Expertise in research-led design, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to refine and validate brand expression in product
Desire or experience collaborating with engineering teams to ensure brand is reflected accurately in product implementation
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, adapting quickly in a fast-moving, innovative environment
Leadership in fostering a positive, inclusive, and creative team culture that bridges brand and product thinking
Product Design IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
