Senior Architect
We are seeking a licensed Senior Architect to guide Space Craft’s mixed-use development projects through their architectural lifecycle. Our ideal candidate balances deep technical experience with big-picture goals to keep projects on track without compromising their vision. About You
• Strong technical expertise to lead projects from early coordination through permit set delivery
• Proven ability to manage complex architectural projects with overlapping deadlines and shifting priorities
• Comfortable with a fast-paced workflow, organized, and adaptable as project needs evolve
• Value clear communication and enjoy working collaboratively with teammates and consultants
• Willingness to think outside the box and generate creative solutions within design, time, financial, or other constraints
• Eager to learn, open to new tools and technologies, and committed to continuously expanding your skills
• Desire to contribute positively to a team environment and a culture that is inclusive, fun, engaged, and curious
Qualifications
• 6–10 years of architecture work experience
• Experience carrying multiple projects from full documentation through construction administration
• Licensed in architecture, or close to licensure with the ambition to be licensed within 1 year of employment
• Proficiency in Archicad is preferred but not required — a strong technical background and a willingness to learn Archicad quickly is sufficient
• Alignment with Space Craft’s mission to build walkable neighborhoods and sustainable buildings is essential
The Role
You will lead complex projects from early coordination through full permit set delivery. You will guide project execution, coordinate with consultants, and oversee the development of clear, buildable construction documents. You will actively draw in addition to directing others. As part of a growing team, you will contribute to the growth of the entire team’s capabilities and collaborate closely with the broader development company.
Design and Collaboration
• Lead projects from schematic design through permit submission
• Guide internal teams and manage consultant coordination
• Develop clear drawing sets and resolve technical challenges to ensure coordinated, code-compliant, and buildable documentation at every stage
• Ensure construction documents are appropriately detailed, prepared for a smooth permit review process, and practically buildable
• Coordinate closely with partners to translate design goals into well-integrated, technically sound solutions
• Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all phases
Construction Administration
• Review submittals and issue clarifications
• Ensure the technical integrity of the drawings is upheld throughout the construction phase

• Reserve time to connect with teammates, find mentors, and contribute ideas that improve our developments, our business, and our team. We want you to be in sync with the broader company and understand the big picture behind our development projects.

Location
Charlotte, NC
Travel Expectations
• Travel occasionally to other Space Craft offices for in-person time with teammates
• Gather for team offsites twice annually, which could be domestic or international
• Attend occasional events and conferences
