Role Summary
Rivian is seeking a Project Manager who will be working closely with cross-functional partners (i.e. Real Estate, Design, Operations managers) leading facilities commercial construction projects to ensure all financial, administrative, contractual, and technical aspects of multiple projects are being executed as required. Facilities associated with this role may include new builds, retrofits, expansion and program initiatives for service and delivery centers and retail tenant improvements. The primary function of the Project Manager is to provide construction-related services reporting directly to the Regional Development Manager. The Project Manager will manage budget, schedule and quality for each assigned project and actively collaborates with all Internal/External stakeholders including, but not limited to, Real Estate, Design/Architecture, Operations, IT/AV, Security Managers, EHS, and Operations. That said, candidates with some design experience, including but not limited to creating test fits or ability to manage architects of record, is a bonus for this role.
Responsibilities
Responsible for project management over new, expansion, and remodel construction of Service and Delivery Centers and Retail build outs.
Develop work plans and oversee the performance of general contractors, and occasionally direct trade subcontractors and/or vendors
Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Oversee the work for compliance with schedule, budget, quality, safety, and overall conformance with the contract documents
Project responsibility covers attending market tours, working alongside preconstruction to develop budgets and schedules, strategic planning, reviewing and providing guidance through design development, attending weekly calls with internal and external partners, job site visits, construction management and completion, and support with operation handovers.
Initiate and lead the creation of contractor and vendor RFP documents with purchasing managers (scope narratives, schedules, etc.), attend job walks and selection/award review meetings
Establish and/or review contract documents and manage procurement, pre-bid conferences, and evaluations
Coordinate activities with other Rivian staff, departments, and public agencies as needed per project and in support with project team roles and responsibilities.
Resolve field construction problems in coordination with the design team, engineering staff, third parties, and other agencies as necessary
Chair progress meetings, complete status reports, and deliver presentations, as required
Communicate project health (budget, schedule, quality) to Rivian leadership via in-house Rivian program/dashboard
Support Process Refinement in collaboration with the centralized development team.
Assist in negotiating with contractors regarding changes to the design, construction work scope, and schedules
Support and uphold quality on a project per Rivian standards and contract documents, oversee contractor corrective actions, and ensure a quality project conforming to plans and specifications
Nice to have skillset: ability to support project design, as well. Including:
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or construction management, is preferred, or a similar number of years of experience in the field; and (8) years of experience managing construction projects of similar size and complexity.
Lead projects “the Rivian way,” providing professional influence on the work exemplifying respect, leadership, collaboration, commitment, vision, and teamwork.
Ability to effectively solve problems and conflicts
Ability to plan, coordinate, and provide leadership in the execution of complex, fast-paced, and/or challenging construction projects
Ability and desire to “dive” into the details of highly technical construction projects
Knowledge of theory, principles, and practices of engineering
Knowledge of design-build project delivery methodology and understanding of different contract types
Ability to manage multiple projects and issues effectively
Ability to support and provide a “customer service mentality” for multiple internal stakeholders effectively
Ability to assess the operational effectiveness of contractors
Possesses written and oral communication skills to support decisions and recommendations, including the skills to communicate with leadership
Conduct meetings and provide effective leadership to project team members
Develop and manage budgets within established parameters
Ability to analyze and interpret technical materials accurately and effectively, including engineering drawings and specifications
Effective in making objective decisions
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Ability to work with construction contractors, vendors, and consultants
Demonstrated analytical skills
Ability to organize large amounts of information into digestible, visual forms of communication

Pay Disclosure
The salary range for this role is USD $114,100-$142,600 for Georgia based applicants. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, and organizational needs.
The successful candidate may be eligible for annual performance bonus and equity awards.
