The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Office of the Commissioner division, seeks a Junior Project Manager working within the Alternative Delivery Unit. Under the supervision of a Deputy Director, with limited latitude for independent judgment and action, the selected candidate will perform entry-level project management work and receive training in senior level project management responsibilities. Junior Project Manager duties will include assisting with the following tasks: maintaining a project management information system to provide data for the planning and control of project development; establishing project timeframes and cost schedules; determining and coordinating project activities required between the client agencies, contractors, and departments responsible for project completion; reviewing all schedules, reports, and orders prepared by consultants, contractors, and client agencies to assure compliance with project completion dates; checking contractors' work performance via field visits and on-site inspections. The selected candidate will also prepare management reports and resolve problems that arise in meeting schedules and assigned budgets. The selected candidate will work with a Deputy Director to review Design-Build payments, allowance requests, and change orders and ensure internal processes support Design Build agreement requirements, as well as assist with overall program reporting and tracking to enhance stakeholder engagement, industry partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
