Position SummaryAn exceptional story is a foundation of good design. We curate the design of Marriott’s Collection Brands by combining storytelling with the essence of our Brands. Candidates should be able to combine a creative mindset with strategic thinking and can engage with owners/project managers, multiple disciplines, and internal stakeholders. The primary focus of the position is our Collection Brands (Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy, Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio, and their respective residences projects). Other Premium brands may be required based on market conditions and workload drivers At the project level, a successful Manager of Interior Design – Collection Brands provides design guidance via daily participation in the project processes and via formal reviews through the lens of each brand and ensures that design standards are adhered to both programmatically and for quality. Candidates will work on both franchised and managed deals with internal and external stakeholders fostering relationships that permit great solutions. Work occurs in an atmosphere of collaboration where the expectation is to add value to create great product. This is a unique opportunity to position yourself directly in the Collection Brands throughout the US & Canada.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Intermittently functions as project manager, guiding work of team, while coordinating with architects, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed timely.

  • Participates in establishing direction of brand design, ensuring elements align with brand standards and aesthetic.

  • Selects, trains, and manages interior design consultants as necessary.

  • Develops and maintains liaison with all appropriate divisions, departments, and owners.

  • Monitors the interior design project budget, managing schedules and resources effectively while maintaining quality standards.

  • Serves as content leader on projects, providing updates internally, utilizing company tools and systems to track and report status.

  • Develops and articulates conceptual design ideas, effectively presenting and selling plans to senior executives and property owners.

  • Stays updated with the latest trends and technologies to develop and incorporate innovative concepts and solutions to designs.

  • Gathers and provides field input to product development group.

  • Travel anticipated: 15%-25%

  • CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Key Skills/Requirements:

    • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, scheduling, project & database mgmt. software (e.g., Microsoft Project), as well as AutoCad, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Suite.

    Education/Experience:

    • Minimum 4-year degree in a related design discipline preferred.

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design field, preferably in the hospitality design industry

    • NCIDQ certificate preferred

    • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

    The salary range for this position is$84,900 to $117,800annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus.

    Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.

Headquarters-based positions are considered hybrid, for candidates within a commuting distance to Bethesda, MD; candidates outside of commuting distance to Bethesda, MD will be considered for Remote positions.
