3D Earthen Printer Operator - Terran Robotics (Bloomington, IN)

About the role

As a Terraformer Operator, you'll serve as the link between Terran’s autonomous robotics and the world of physical construction. You'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the Terraformer as it 3D prints homes. You'll manage the mixing and preparation of the sustainable building materials.

Compensation

$20/hr - $30/hr

What you’ll be working on

  • Operation, set up, and tear down of the Terraformer, our large scale house printer.

  • Provide feedback to engineers on how the Terraformer is operating, while providing basic maintenance

  • Process clay, aggregate, and fiber for the mixer

  • Operating the mixer which combines the above natural building materials to produce monolithic adobe

  • Assist with other parts of the construction process


You

  • Construction experience

  • Know your way around mechanical systems for routine repair

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Able to work in Bloomington, IN and Columbus, IN

  • Gain satisfaction from personally helping to mitigate the housing crisis

It’d also be nice if you

  • Ability to read/interpret construction and engineering documents

  • Experience managing sub-contractors

  • Basic understanding construction costing

  • Have sensibilities with interior and/or architectural design

  • Knowledge of natural construction
