About the job

We’re looking for a visionary Director of Design - Gaming & Interactive Experiences to define the visual and experiential language of Samsung’s next-generation interactive content. This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of storytelling, experimentation, and high-impact execution. You’ll lead the design direction for interactive mini-games, ad-supported experiences, and emerging content formats within the Samsung Smart TV ecosystem—while also shaping a new internal design prototyping team from the ground up.

Role and Responsibilities

You’ll be hands-on in generating visual concepts and guiding external vendors through execution. You’ll also collaborate closely with game producers, product managers, and researchers to turn new ideas into testable, innovative experiences that delight users and open doors for monetization. Above all, you’ll be an exceptional storyteller—able to frame design concepts in ways that inspire internal stakeholders and win executive alignment.

  • Create high-impact design concepts and prototypes that bring new game mechanics, interactive ad formats, and content engagement ideas to life.

  • Lead design strategy for rapid experimentation and user research, translating feedback into actionable iterations.

  • Manage external creative partners and studios to ensure alignment with Samsung’s design vision and executional standards.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional product, engineering, and content teams to bring new interactive experiences to life.

  • Act as the storytelling lead for design—crafting compelling visual narratives and presentations for executive audiences and strategic partners.

  • Maintaining/iterating live mini-games/GameBreaks with visual/ux updates (New features, bug fixes, seasonal imagery, client sponsorship integration, etc)

  • Supporting the development and delivery of final products to market (making production ready assets, iterating on polish, supporting bug fixes, etc)

  • Help build and scale a dedicated design prototyping team, defining roles, processes, and creative best practices.

  • Skills and Qualifications

    • 7+ years of experience in design leadership roles across interactive media, gaming, or digital product innovation.

    • A strong portfolio of visually compelling work across interactive formats—games, ad experiences, immersive UI, or content prototypes.

    • Proven ability to design rapid prototypes and translate abstract ideas into testable, user-ready concepts.

    • Experience managing external partners and guiding creative execution across multiple projects and teams.

    • Outstanding storytelling and presentation skills; able to frame complex ideas clearly and persuasively for executive stakeholders.

    • Fluency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, After Effects, Unity, Framer, Principle), and comfort collaborating with technical teams.

    • Passion for pushing the boundaries of interactive design on the biggest screens in the home.

    The salary range for this role is expected to be between$225,000 - $245,000. Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.
