Aura connects people around the world through a brilliant and simple photo-sharing experience. Aura’s easy-to-use mobile app (available on iOS and Android) and gorgeous WiFi-connected digital photo frames provide an easy and safe way to share photos with family and friends. Who we are
Aura was founded by Eric Jensen and Abdur Chowdury, computer scientists who met as PhD candidates and then partnered to build the search engine Summize. When Twitter acquired that company in 2008, the dynamic duo stayed on and contributed to the platform’s most explosive years of growth, with Eric leading search products and Abdur being named Twitter's first Chief Scientist. Fond of the lighthearted, small-community experience of social media’s early days, Eric and Abdur wanted to use their knowledge of social networking to create a better way for loved ones to stay connected over shared photos.
Aura began building a platform to power its WiFi frames and officially launched in 2016. Inspired by the power of technology and photos to bring us closer to the people and places we love, Aura connects the digital and physical, creating a beautiful space at home to enjoy our favorite moments and an app that makes them easier than ever to share.
The role:
We’re looking for a Design Lead to join our creative team. You have a proven foundation in brand design, with a passion for building holistic brand experiences across various consumer touch points. In this role, you’ll be responsible for driving the Aura brand forward, with a specific focus on e-commerce. You’ll help evolve our brand across online and retail; including web, email, digital ads, packaging, collateral, retail displays, and signage.
What you’ll do:
You’ll work as part of the creative team to build and evolve a best-in-class brand.
Drive how the brand comes to life, specifically in the digital world. You have a deep understanding of creating brand systems for e-commerce and digital experiences.
Have a holistic view of the brand, and work collaboratively with different disciplines within Aura, including Marketing, Retail, Industrial Design and UX, in bringing the brand to life.
Think critically to understand problems, brainstorm creative ideas, and recommend design solutions that are fresh, risk-taking, and always on-brand.
Key Qualifications
6-8 years of experience building brands and executing across platforms. E-commerce experience preferred.
Confident and clear communicator who can speak to your work and make strategic design decisions.
Comprehensive foundation in design, typography, and layout. Strong eye for photography and color. Motion experience is a plus.
Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
Comfortable working autonomously, as well as managing designers.
You love collaborating with other teams within organizations to bring projects and big ideas to life.
Have a portfolio of successfully launched work demonstrating strategic, conceptual, and creative thinking.

For full-time, US-based employees. Benefits may differ for part-time or international roles.
