Role Overview
The Design Integration Lead is the connective tissue between the company, the customer team, external consultants, and the realities of the jobsite.
If the Head of Construction & Project Delivery is the conductor, this role is the integrator who keeps every discipline in sync.
You will own the translation of customer design intent into coordinated, buildable documentation. You will be accountable for ensuring drawings, models, and system integrations meet internal standards and are aligned with engineering, manufacturing, and field execution.
This is not a drafting role. You will operate inside BIM models, direct external partners, lead coordination efforts, and take ownership of project delivery workflows across multiple active home deployments.
The goal: tighter alignment across design, engineering, and construction, enabling faster turnaround, higher accuracy, and continuous improvement across a repeatable residential product line.
Core Responsibilities
Coordinate communication, priorities, and timelines across customers, consultants, and internal stakeholders
Translate customer needs and jobsite insights into clear technical requirements for designers, engineers, and modelers
Direct architectural modelers and engineering consultants, reviewing work for accuracy and alignment with design intent
Navigate and review BIM models (primarily Revit) to validate system integration and identify conflicts
Lead MEP and structural coordination to ensure systems are accurately represented and buildable
Drive the sign-off process across engineering, customers, production, and product teams
Manage drawing and submission packages for city approvals and inspections
Capture installation and construction feedback and convert it into documentation improvements
Establish and refine coordination standards and workflows that reduce errors and shorten turnaround times
How This Role Operates in Practice
You will function as the central hub for design accuracy and engineering alignment.
In practice, that means you will:
Own the full coordination workflow from early requirements through final sign-off
Make independent decisions on model revisions and consultant direction
Work directly inside Revit models, not just reviewing static PDFs
Run coordination meetings and manage consultant communication
Balance multiple workstreams across production home variations
Help build scalable systems as the company grows
This role requires someone who can take ownership and operate with minimal supervision once ramped up.
Key Attributes
Proactive and decisive, comfortable giving direction to consultants and internal teams
Strong technical foundation in Revit and multi-discipline coordination
Working understanding of structural and MEP systems
Project management mindset with the ability to juggle multiple active deployments
Detail-driven with strong quality control instincts
Clear communicator who can simplify complexity
Collaborative and comfortable working in a startup environment
Willing to work in-office five days per week

Strong Mid-Level Architect (5–7 years experience)

Why This Role Matters
This is a critical hire as the company scales from pilot projects to multi-home production deployments.
The right person will reduce coordination friction, improve documentation quality, and strengthen the integration between design, engineering, manufacturing, and field execution.
There is real potential to evolve into leading a small internal coordination team as the company grows.
