Our award-winning, New York City–based media company is celebrating 20 years of publishing The Architect’s Newspaper. In addition to that title, AN Media Group also publishes AN Interior, a magazine of interiors realized by architects.

Our Hartford office is seeking a Building Information Model expert to lead successful management of BIM production, workflows and standards to support our growing firm in our projects around the country. We are seeking qualified candidates who have a demonstrated capacity for a high level of BIM Management responsibility to lead, support, and teach our staff. Responsibilities:

  • Provide Revit/BIM Management, leadership and support for the firm’s design projects for our Hartford and Boston office locations.

  • Work closely with the project team BIM Coordinator on developing project execution and implementation plans, project start-up methods and workflow strategies.

  • Assist project teams with advanced Revit modeling requirements, content creation and coordination efforts.

  • Manage, organize and optimize detail and family libraries for use between projects.

  • Review projects with BIM Coordinators to ensure compliance with Quality of Documents Standards in coordination with the Director of Technical Production.

  • Assist troubleshooting and resolving Revit/BIM application issues.

  • Provide Revit/BIM training to current staff and new hires.

  • Review and implement new versions of software and develop customized deployments.

  • Help train and starting new projects with the correct templates for the team’s use.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a BIM Management role.

  • Experience with a BIM Execution plan and providing a detailed modeling plan for each design phase.

  • Expert level of knowledge of Autodesk Revit, Revit project workflows and Navisworks.

  • Collaborative project management with multiple design teams/office.

  • Project coordination, clash detection and remediation.

  • Familiarity with model visualization – using Revit as a base point for rendering/animations in 3ds Max, Autodesk 360, etc.

  • Working knowledge of analysis of models that vary from solar studies (Autodesk Green Building Studio, etc.) to quantity take-offs.

  • Working knowledge of Dynamo and Navisworks.

Desired Skills:

  • Working knowledge of software installation and deployments, to facilitate review and implementation of new versions or updates of non-operating software updates and implement/deploy new software purchases.

  • Provide troubleshooting for hardware.

  • Research and recommend new software for increased productivity of firm.

  • Research, purchasing and installation of new hardware and/or equipment.

  • Set-up and deployment of new hire workstations.
