The opportunity
We’re looking for a thoughtful and experienced Senior Staff Designer to join our high-impact incubation team within Adobe. In this role, you’ll lead interaction and systems design for a ground-breaking modular creative experience across web and desktop platforms. Your work will help users create in entirely new ways, enabling them to build and deploy powerful workflows with a mix of traditional and innovative generative tools.

What you’ll do
Lead design for core user interactions in a flexible visual editor used to build modular creative workflows
Define UX patterns for novel new creative systems
Simplify complexity by bringing coherence to workflows that span AI models, creative tooling, and traditional content pipelines
Collaborate deeply with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced incubation environment
Explore interaction models for both power users and newcomers across creative professions
Contribute to product strategy and inform what we build through user insight, competitive analysis, and instinct
What you’ll need to succeed
Must-haves:
A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design of complex systems or creative tools
A background in traditional and generative content creation
Experience crafting for creative professionals—especially in domains like motion, video, design, 3D and photography
A love for interaction design, visual clarity, and information hierarchy
A passion for emerging workflows—especially generative AI, parametric systems, and modular interfaces
Comfort navigating ambiguity, and an ability to turn rough ideas into testable experiences
Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams to ship polished, performant products
Proficiency in Figma and Creative Cloud
Clear, confident storytelling skills
Nice-to-haves:
Experience crafting graph-based tools, visual programming interfaces, or modular systems
Proficiency in transforming your ideas into functional prototypes via Cursor, TypeScript, or HTML/CSS
Familiarity with interaction models used in tools like ComfyUI, Touch Designer, Unreal, Houdini, Blender, Cinema4D or other node-based UIs
A strong systems-thinking approach and the ability to scale design decisions across a growing platform
Knowledge of accessibility principles and inclusive design practices
Preferred Accessibility Design Skills:
Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities.
Understanding of applying WCAG conformance criteria in design, specifically testing comps, wireframes, and prototypes for accessibility standards.
Accessibility certifications CPACC, WAS, CPWA, or ADS from the IAAP preferred.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $157,300 -- $292,200 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
