Catalog Specialist, Interior Design - Amazon (Seattle, WA)

We are hiring an experienced Interior Designer to help us grow our business in new innovative ways. In this role you will be working closely with our product and technology teams to design and bring to life new customer experiences within the Amazon Home category. In addition, you will evolve and evangelize Amazon Home’s definition of furniture styles, and you will support our data scientists’ classification algorithm development.

To date, you will have had hands-on experience with interior design, architecture or furniture design. You are passionate about interior design and know how to apply a high visual beauty bar, without sacrificing customer experience, trust or operational efficiencies. You are highly analytical, able to work effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at using variety of technologies to create visually appealing, high quality rooms and renders. #reinventretail

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the voice of high quality Interior Design within the Home Innovation Team

  • Assist with Home Innovation’s style and design recommendation efforts, including evangelization to internal teams

  • Work with Product and Tech teams to develop new customer experiences

  • Support Data Scientists with style algorithm development

  • Learn from (internal) customer feedback and trends to ensure we are appropriately evolving style definitions and classification processes over time

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years’ experience in interior design, architecture, retail furniture design / product marketing

  • Bachelor's degree in an associated discipline

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with customers for residential design projects

  • Actively follow trends, news, social media and influencers in, and affecting, interior design

  • Knowledge of project methodology, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk and allocate resources

  • Ability to deal with ambiguous problems and build solutions with proper project management

  • Aptitude for being organized with flexibility and for delivering results in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven track record of developing high quality interior design rooms and renders

  • Relentless customer focus

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to deep dive on complex problems

  • Track record of cross-functional team leadership and ability to influence

  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem solving skills
