The Role
Start Date: Week of August 1st 2022
Length : 12 Weeks - Full time (Remote)
We’re seeking a talented information and visual design intern to join our Studio.
You will join an exciting data storytelling project focusing on identity affirmation and mental well-being for LGBTQ+ youth in the U.S. Additional assignments will be determined collaboratively based on your background and interests. Opportunities include: BI dashboard design, brand / design systems, data storytelling, and web design.
Qualifications
Experience applying UI/UX design principles with a strong sense of visual information hierarchy (data or information visualization is a plus!)
Comfortable using design software such as Figma, Adobe Illustrator, and working with design systems
Compensation
This is a paid internship. Our hourly rates for interns ranges from $20-$30/hr depending on level of education &/or equivalent experience
Interns outside the U.S. receive an hourly rate adjusted for cost of living in their location.
Experience that will help
Lived experience as a member of the LGBTQ+ community
You’re passionate about storytelling with data and helping companies tell their stories and gain business insights through visualization
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience presenting, explaining, and documenting visual and technical work
You’re an interdisciplinary thinker and like to work on projects ranging from dashboards to custom web-based visualizations
Portfolio with examples of print, digital or interactive data visualization and/or UI design
