Art Director, Social/Digital - Saatchi&Saatchi (Remote)

A digital native and innovative thinker who demonstrates a passion for art direction, design, and social media as a creative storytelling space. Works closely with the creative, digital, and production teams to bring forward-thinking ideas to the table. Partners with senior creative team members to develop strategic executions through a variety of tactics—social commerce, bespoke digital executions, physical displays, digital video storyboards, experiential events and more. Keeps in mind what is right for the shopper, the brand, and the retailer.

Stays in tune with social media trends. Frequently brings new ideas to team brainstorms and elevates the design aesthetic as well as the creative team’s approach to digital/social. A craftsperson with well-rounded technical skills. Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) expertise is a must. Passion for visual storytelling through creative deck building (Microsoft PowerPoint) a plus.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participates in brainstorms and able to provide a creative POV, grounded in the creative brief

  • Art directs interns and junior creatives

  • Proactively hones technical skills and program efficiencies

  • Researches industry trends to provide design foresight

  • Brings strategic, innovative ideas to life from concept through to final execution using an iterative process

  • Participates in creative team meetings and work check-ins

  • An apprentice to the senior-level creatives and starts to understand strategy and storytelling

  • Problem solves and applies feedback to make revisions in a timely manner with an attention to detail

  • Accountable, ensuring work is properly vetted, approved, and proofed and that files are properly built and delivered on time

  • Uses internal creative reviews for practice presenting and articulating the “why” behind the design decisions as it connects back to the strategy and business objective

  • Has consistent one-on-one meetings with your manager to build a growth plan together

  • Attends kickoffs and status meetings when appropriate and asks questions in order to get what the team needs to move a job forward

  • May participate in new business pitches, workshops, and creation of strategic solutions for growing our clients’ business

  • Works with production and digital production to design disruptive and effective display and digital work

  • Shows the intent of an idea and by applying flat art in perspective to deliver dimensional comps

 

 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Agency experience highly preferred

  • Social media experience a must

  • Knowledge of file management, comp-building, time management, and organization

  • High-level proficiency with graphic software (i.e., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) is expected

  • Up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, ideally having worked in the social space for previous accounts

  • Comfortable working remotely but understand that our team still works in a very close-knit, collaborative environment
