The Los Angeles, California office is looking for a Sr. Concept Artist with 3D modeling, design, and conceptual abilities to help visualize their future game environments. We are seeking an Senior Concept Artist who is eager to push visual quality to the next level.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Concept Artist you will be working closely with the Art Director and other creative leads to help establish and enhance the visual direction of the game.

Work task examples

  • Create visual target images together with the Art Director to convey or establish visual direction

  • Create awe inspiring imagery that defines the mood and tone of all games in development at the studio

  • Guide the artistic development of all concept artists within the studio

  • Create readable designs for environments, characters, props, weapons and vehicles that can be translated into 3D assets

  • Paint overs of existing level geometry

  • Matte paintings and plates for backdrops in levels and cut scenes

  • Help craft style guides and creative briefs for external developers

Skills We Look For:

  • Deep understanding of lighting, composition and mood

  • Strong sense of industrial design, anatomy and shape language

  • Ability to create stunning imagery that translates well into game play

  • Effective collaboration skills

  • Able to turn high-level feedback into positive results

  • Highly proficient with Photoshop or similar image editing software

  • Basic 3D software knowledge

Erin Pellegrino is a strategist, educator, and registered architect who believes design is a powerful catalyst for change—a process of engaging with problems, opportunities, hopes, and world-shaping ideas. Through Matter, her design and fabrication studio, she transforms visionary concepts into extraordinary spaces, objects, and experiences that push standards and boundaries.

She is the co-founder of Out of Architecture, a career resource community and talent services agency, and co-author of ‘Out of Architecture: The Value of Architects Beyond Traditional Practice’ (Routledge, 2022). Her commitment to expanding design’s impact extends to academia, where she has taught at Harvard, Cornell, The New School, CUNY, and The New Jersey Institute of Technology. At NJIT she co-leads the design/build program focusing on public interest design.

Her work has earned global recognition, including an Autodesk BuildSpace Fellowship, AIA New England Design Honor Award, Core77 Design Award in Built Environment, two Architizer A-plus awards, a Paul M. Heffernan International Fellowship, and a nomination for the EU Mies Van der Rohe Award. She holds an M.Arch II from Harvard Graduate School of Design, a B.Arch from Cornell University, and an MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology.
